As a new patient of Balmain Chiropractic Centre, your first appointment with us will go something like this.

Forms

For our chiropractors to understand the cause of your injury or pain related condition, we require some details from you.

On your first appointment, you will be asked to complete a new patient form, which will help our chiropractors diagnose and treat you. You can complete these forms at your first appointment, or in advance using the online booking form.

Medical history

In the treating room, the chiropractor will ask you some questions about your medical history, the events leading up to your pain or injury, discuss any symptoms you have been experiencing, and any other relevant information to assist in their diagnosis and treatment.

All information you provide the clinicians at Balmain Chiropractic Centre is kept confidential.

Examination

After the history, the chiropractor will aim to find the source of your pain related condition or injury and perform a safe and careful examination.

Diagnosis

The results of your history and examination will help the chiropractor make a formal diagnosis. This diagnosis will be discussed with you at your first consultation and if any further tests are required, such as an MRI scan or x-rays, you will be informed and referred to the best place to receive this.

Treatment

Once the chiropractor has examined you and formed the diagnosis, they will begin your treatment. Treatment to your injury or pain related condition will start at your first appointment.

Before you leave

If required, the chiropractor will recommend a suitable timeframe for your second appointment and make a booking. They will also explain any self-management exercises you can do at home and any modifications you can make to your daily routine to ease any temporary pain.
